Terms of Service — Code Review Academy

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Code Review Academy, a service operated by Code Cognito Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (registered address: 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ). The service is accessible at codereview.academy and app.codereview.academy. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

Code Review Academy is an educational platform that helps software engineers practise reviewing pull requests. We provide curated PR exercises, AI-powered feedback, and structured learning tracks.

2. Your account

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at contact@codereviewacademy.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or automate access to the service.
Use the service to train competing AI models or products without our written consent.
Submit content that is unlawful, abusive, or infringes third-party intellectual property.
Circumvent any rate limits, authentication, or access controls.

4. Intellectual property

All platform content — including PR exercises, track materials, UI, and branding — is owned by or licensed to Code Review Academy. You may not copy, redistribute, or republish it without written permission.

Content you submit (review comments, answers) remains yours. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to store and display it within the platform to provide the service.

5. AI-generated feedback

Feedback provided by our AI coach is for educational purposes only. It may contain errors or omissions. Do not rely on it as professional advice for production code.

6. Payments & refunds

Paid plans are billed in advance. If you cancel, you retain access until the end of the current billing period — we do not offer partial-period refunds. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 14 days and we will investigate.

7. Availability & changes

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service with reasonable notice. We may update these Terms; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Code Review Academy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
